One glass of wine and I can't shut up!

Oh my gosh, do you ever feel crazy? Please tell me yes! LOL So here are some rambling thoughts.....
Just got Positive Thinking magazine in the mail today! The thing is a freakin pamphlet! Seriously, how can I even consider being positive when I just wasted my money?? They are probably going to see I linked to them with this post and boot me off their subscription list, LOL Seriously, though, I have been so positive lately- even in the face of extremely hard times- to the point that Scott is telling me to lay off the meds, lol- and then I get this rinky dink "magazine" that is 86 pages and about 1/4 the size of a "real" magazine! Seriously!( Can one use that many dashes legally in a sentence? LOL) What's up with that? Maybe they need me to be their graphics/ marketing person so we can grow this thing thing huge!? <--- Lemonade from lemons right there, baby!

It was a CRAZY week! Scott got TOWED yesterday which led to a whole nightmarish series of events to secure some cash to get his car out of "tow jail". The nightmare would be that we overdrafted our checking account and our debit cards were frozen! Seriously... dude! How could this be happening after all we have done to get our lives in order? Argh! I can't even THINK about it!

Anyway, I can't even post all the nightmare stuff.... I gotta look at all the good stuff in my life....
1. It's supposed to snow Sunday night and I LOVE snow, especially the first big one!
2. My job pays crap, but I adore the people I work with!
3. I am still loving school!
4. My girl Allyson and I are on a serious roll!
5. 25 days till Christmas...
which means 6. 31 days till my buds are coming for Drinkfest 2008!
7. Megan's basketball team is kickin butt!
8. Dylan's first game is tomorrow!
9. I have 4 1/2 awesome kiddos, one yummy husband and numerous amazing friends!

I am currently watching the Patriots... just into the 2nd quarter and the game is tied... what the heck is up with that? I told Scott that we should drink for each touchdown... he has had one beer and is about to fall asleep on the couch, LOL

In non-scrappin news, I got back test #3 in Humanities and didn't do quite as well... got a 21.5 out of 20. Sad when I am unhappy with a 105%! LOL In less than a week, I have a self reflective essay due in my other class. It's hard to imagine that someone as self reflective as me who loves to write would have a difficult time getting it started but I just want it to be perfect and flow in a cohesive manner.

In kid news, we are still going a mile a minute with basketball practice, cub scouts, girl scouts, batting practice, CCD, Parent-Teacher conferences... it's a never ending cycle... and I can't imagine my life without it!

Shaws is doing this thing with points! I need 3 more points to earn $20 towards a turkey for Thanksgiving! If you happen to have any extra points, shoot me a message for my address, please! In other blogging topics... I miss my friends and want to publicly apologize for being a bad friend lately. I know I often cite my struggle to find balance as an excuse, but it's honestly true. School 3 days a week, work 3 days a week and the kids are as busy as ever... it leaves very little downtime right now. I PROMISE I love you all just as much as ever, even though I haven't had as much time to express it! I know it seems far away but I will be seeing you all New Year's Eve and we will have the time of our lives, so charge those camera batteries! :) I hope I will get to see some of you before that as well! I am done school December 14th until 2008, so I should have some extra time to hang then! Love you guys so much... really!

I started my Christmas shopping yesterday with my paycheck at work. I got some really great deals and feel a little bit better knowing there will be at least a few things under the tree. Hopefully the kids are old enough to be understanding of the current financial situation and understand that Christmas is about celebrating love rather than gifts under the true. We have many holiday traditionas that reinforce what Christmas is really all about, so hopefully they will "get it" and not act like little brats, LOL.

Gotta scoot... Dane has basketball practice and the kids have CCD this afternoon so I am back out the door! Have a fabulous Sunday! XO

TGIF, Baby!

Thank God it's Friday... not sure why, really, since the weekend is nothing special and I have to work tomorrow, LOL, but it always feels good to make it through another week!

Got my test back in Humanities today! I got a 26.5 with 20=100! WOOHOO! GO ME! :) Hopefully missing Wednesday's lecture won't set me too far back for Monday's test!

The kids got their first quarter report cards today! Megan missed straight A's by 1 point! That has her quite bummed out. The boys both did incredibly well! I am so proud of them!

School pictures also came in today! I can't wait to get them in the frames so I can look at all the years before in amazement! They have changed SO much in the past few years! Apparently there was a camera malfunction when they took Dylan's picture and it's totally blurry! :( He has retakes next week.

I got to talk to my brother Jamie this morning! He sounded pretty good! I know he misses his wife & kids, but he seems to be holding up pretty well!

Put it in perspective...

I was super psyched to go to class today and find out how I did on my test! I left at 920am... plenty of time to get there. I was about 4 miles from home when my car didn't seem to want to go. I thought maybe it was my transmission. Long story short... I pulled over and couldn't get the car restarted. Called AAA. They brought gas (which wasn't the problem) then called for a truck. Had it towed to Derry and my friend Jen's boyfriend gave me a ride back to my house. Looks like it's the fuel pump that's gone. :(

So anyway, I sent a text to Victoria to let her know I couldn't pick her up at school and she should take the bus to her dad's. I apologized and she replied "As long as we're livin' we're okay". How true is that?? And how insightful for a 15 year old girl? I love moments like that when I can see a glimpse of the future and know she is on the right path to being a smart and secure adult! :)

Victoria and Megan both had their appointments with the orthopaedic doctor yesterday. Megan's spine is now at a 0 degree curve which is amazing! Victoria's spine had no change which is about as good as we could hope for! Victoria goes back in 6 months and Megan doesn't have to go at all! Yeah!

Guess that's all for now! I have about 2 hours till the kiddos get home so I think I will try to make this day a productive one by doing something around the house.
