Happy Friday to ya! I am going to put on a big fake cheesey smile and fake it till I make it today! I am feeling SO cranky! Every little thing is really getting under my skin today. Is it bedtime yet? No, no.... it's not even 8am! *sigh*


Dane came home from school yesterday with the instrument lesson permission slip and asked if he could play the trumpet! Be still my heart- FINALLY one of my kids is willing to give music a chance! :) Hopefully he will enjoy himself and this added activity in our schedule won't put me over the edge! LOL

We survived!

We survived the first day of school and quite successfully, I might add! I couldn't believe how quickly I flew through the paperwork, wrote the checks to the PTA and for the lunch accounts and listened the tales of the new classrooms! I have a feeling this is going to be a great year for the kids. I am SO thrilled to be in the Fall routine now and put summer BEHIND us!

I am excited to welcome a new member to my Creative Team- Kaylea! Not only is this gal talented, but she really has her head on her shoulders and I enjoy chatting with her! :)

Heartburn sucks!

I slept like crap last night because the acid leaving my stomach woke me up. It's before 8pm, I haven't gone to bed yet and already I can feel the acid at work again. *sigh*

So, Victoria started high school today! When I asked her how it was, she griped about hiking across campus, but otherwise she seemed to like it. Tomorrow the rest of the kiddos head back to school! In case I haven't mentioned, I am really excited about this! I can't wait for the routine of Fall!

Tuesday check in!

We had Victoria's MRI follow up today. We were excited to learn that her spinal cord is *not* tethered. The doctor suggested that we wait until her next appointment in November before determining if she needs to see a neurosurgeon. This was the best possible news we could have gotten at today's appointment so I am quite happy! :)

Jen invited us over for dinner so the kids and I are gonna head over there (sure beats cooking, huh?)! Have a wonderful night!

What a weird day!

Maybe it's the fact that I have been off one of my medications for a couple days (since we have no insurance and I can't afford it) or maybe its just that the stars are alligned in a unique way but today has truly been the strangest day!

First of all, I got a strange phone call 2 weeks ago. It was from a friend of my Mom's that I haven't seen probably since I was 10 years old. I returned the call and left a voicemail and then heard nothing. On the way to church this morning, I was commenting to Scott that I found that strange that someone would seek me out after more than 2 decades and then just drop it before we actually spoke. Irobinally, when we got home from church, she had called and left a voicemail. It was a wonderful message and really put my mind at ease about what her intentions were.

So then, as if that weren't enough, my Mother's husband called today. I don't have a way to reach him so I just kind of wait on him to call every few months or so to check in. Anyway, like I said, he called... afterwards I decided to look up his other children on MySpace and found ALL 3 OF THEM! How crazy is that!? I am very much hoping to reconnect with them! Who would think that MySpace could actually reconnect people!? If any of you have a MySpace account, add me as your friend, would ya?! :) http://www.myspace.com/inlovewithdots

In other unrelated to weirdness news, we had some good news about the puppy dogger! Besides having a urinary tract infection and an ear infection, the doctor determined that she does not need surgery on her knee at this time. They believe it was only a partial tear or a sprain so she is confined to the house, and on lots of meds, but will be surgery free! Yeah!

Guess that's it for today! It's nearly 11pm now and I have to work in the morning so I should consider putting down the high test coffee and winding down for the night!

I *so* love having Fridays off! No real plans today and that is just the way I like it! :)

I think today is the day that my brother Jamie starts his new job as some sort of contractor. He will be flying from WA to GA then he will be headed to Iraq. I don't really know what to make of that! I know he wants to use this an opportunity to get ahead financially (and I surely understand that), but it's such a risk... and he will be leaving behind his wife and boys. I don't know how he will handle that. *sigh*

The kids have less than 2 weeks to go until school starts again! We took them shopping for school clothes and supplies this week. We certainly didn't have a lot of extra money but we were able to get them a few new things so they dont look quite so much like raggamuffins! LOL

I'm baaaaaaaaaack!

Wow, being gone most of the summer was like losing my voice! I feel like I have a million things to say and I just don't know where to start! It's funny how this blog has taken such a different direction over time. I initially thought of it as a way to connect with other digi scrappers but it turns out that it's more used by close personal friends and family trying to keep up with everything going on in my life!

So, let's see... some summer highlights...

Megan's softball team won the NH State Championship and went to Albany NY for the Northeast Regionals!

Shon & Ruth came up at the end of July for a wonderful visit. We headed back to our old stomping ground- Pemaquid Maine! We had an amazing time and I was thrilled to get to know Ruth even better! Like Gary says, she is the sister I never had!

The kids had a great time at basketball camp! Megan was named Camper of the Week and won a pair of size 17 shoes from Matt Bonner of the Spurs!

The boys experienced Boy Scout Day Camp for the very first time and they both loved it!

Scott accepted a job at The Common Man and has begun week #2 training for a Kitchen Manager position. We have always admired the way they run their business and the kind of people that own the company. I am thrilled that he will now be a part of the team!

It is looking like Duchess may be having a repeat of the surgery she had 2 years ago on her knee. :( We always knew it would be a possibility but we sure didn't expect it so soon. The cost is astronomical and the recovery time is brutal. *sigh*

As for me, well, I am just trying to hold it all together. This summer has been challenging in many ways. I have learned a lot about the person that I am and I can say that while I still have my struggles, I am proud of the person I have become. I think things through and I make good decisions rather than the old way of reacting quickly and facing consequences. If I can be this wise at 33, I expect to win a Pulitzer Prize in my 40's! Hahahahaha!
