Another Wednesday already...

The days seem to blur lately... so much to do and not enough hours to get it all done! I've got a couple new sets of Chick Click Templates releasing in the morning along with a coordinating freebie so make sure you check back! :)

A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my friend Sherri today! She is turning 35 (at least I *think* thats how old she is, all I know is she is older than me, haha!)

I finished my layouts for the Circle Journal project at Designer Digitals. Katie Pertiet shared the pages that have been compiled so far and they are truly amazing! I can't wait to get my books!

So, totally random... I finally said "Ok" when my computer asked if I wanted to install updates! Out of the blue, my internet explorer produced tab browsing! I LOVE it. I like to keep lots of windows open and this is such a great way to do it and still see where I am at! Gotta take time to appreciate the little things, right?

We met with Victoria's school for class placement for high school today. It was a great meeting. One of the forms had some answers from Victoria on it and when asked what her skills were, she mentioned she liked to cook soup. SOUP? I was like "Huh"? Turns out, she believes she is good at cooking Ramen Noodles! Isn't that hysterical? This prompted her to sign up for a health and nutrition class. Maybe we will both learn something new. Other electives she took are an Intro to Art class (required if she wants to take Photogrpahy as a sophmore) and an Animal Science class. She is on track to receive 6 credits for her freshman year!

Guess thats all for tonight! Look for a post tomorrow! :)

Weekend Update!

Yesterday was dedicated to basketball... Dane, Victoria and Megan all had games! Dane & Victoria's teams won but Megan's team lost in the playoffs. It was REALLY crushing because they came into this game 15-0 (or was it 16-0?) and they lost because they played a classless team of dirty players. I know you might think that I am saying that because I am a bitter angry mother of the team that lost, but I will back my statement up with the fact that the coordinator of the program (who is in no way connected to our team) actually went and told their coach those very things. It's so hard to explain to 5th and 6th graders that they do the right thing by playing fair and that they have nothing to be ashamed of when they are crushed to see that, in this case, the cheaters DID win. *sigh*

Today Dylan has a game and the kids have CCD. Other than that, I will be holed up in Photoshop working on some stuff that needs finishing!

I am stuck in a music rut again... added a few songs last night but still need more. Got any suggestions for me?

It's a big day here! (2 posts in one day!)

Love Abounds on 2/15!
I just became a sister-in-law for the second time! That's right- my baby brother Shon got married to his lovely girlfriend, Ruth... TODAY! I hadn't checked my voicemail in nearly a week... there were 2 messages from him... the second being today sharing that they got married! I immediately called him up and asked for a picture, LOL :) I am so thrilled for them! Congratulations, you guys!

The.Mother.Of.All.Guest.Toots!
Woohoo! I am beyond excited to share that after much stalking and hard work on my part, I was able to land a Guest spot on the CT of KATE HADFIELD! Woohoo- that girls rocks my socks! I could get lost in her blog for days looking at her gorgeous work!

Have an awesome night! xo

Happy Valentine's Day (late) and other thoughts too!

Sorry I never made it by the ole blog to leave some love to all my blog-reading friends! Hope your Valentine's day was wonderful! I <3 love!

The snow definitely fell here in southern NH. We got about a foot. School is even delayed again this this morning, so of course the kids are already out back sledding!

I made the mistake of home coloring my hair yesterday. I bought "Medium Brown"... that sounds about right, doesn't it? NOT!!!!!!! My hair is so dark, I freak out everytime I see myself in the mirror. At least I don't have to look at myself too often... I just feel bad for everyone who has to look AT me, lol

I've got a new Chick Click set coming out at TDC today...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Wait till you see the layouts my CT did with these... they are a HOOT!Link to purchase this set: http://www.thedigichick.com/boutique/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1542

I did several layouts yesterday that I was really pleased with, but I've GOT to share this one because it totally cracks me up!

I used the new Fantasy Girl kit from Shawna Clingerman! Isn't it awesome?? My buddy Sherri was laughing at me yesterday as I worked on it (she took the pics and knew how bad I looked) because she said no one would scrap the things I do. I take that as a compliment. Reality scrapping at it's finest, baby! No sugar coating here! ;)

Guess I'll go shower and get my Thursday off to a good start! Hope your day is awesome! :)

I should have been a meteorologist!

Geesh, I just LOVE weather. I am fascinated by the power and strength! As I sit and wait for the first big storm of the season, I know that I won't be able to sleep in. My body just *knows* when a storm is coming and my internal weather clock wakes me before dawn. I have already "called in" to work and there are 137 closings reported (although not for my kid's school just yet)! WOOHOO! It's gonna be a SNOW DAY!

Thanks to everyone who downloaded the Lunch Sack Alpha yesterday! I am excited to see such a positive reaction! If you happen to create a layout using it, I'd love to see it. Leave me a link! :)

Bought the honey Saw III for Valentine's Day so we are off to watch it! Have a great night! XO

Doin' the digi update thing!

Seems like I have been updating on life, kids, sports and new products but have been awful about updating the general digi schtuffs! Here we go.......

1. I got a gig with Kryss Bourque writing her product descriptions! How fun is THAT!? You've got to check out her stuff at Digital Scrapbook Artisan Guild. She has some really great products! I would love to potentially do this for some other designers and would also consider creating quickpages and previews for hire if the right opportunity came up. Know anyone looking? ;)

2. Sadly, I left the Creative Team at NDISB. I *adore* Theresa and Anita and didn't want to leave but felt the time had come to move on. I wish them both the very best and want to thank them publically for the chance to have created for them both for so long! Love ya, girls!

3. Sweet Shoppe Designs new makeover is fantastic! I am kicking myself for not applying for a Babe spot this time around. I guess I'll just have to believe that everything happens for a reason! Maybe next time there is a call I will put my heart on the line again...

4. I was excited to see this thread at TDC. Sinead tooted for me before I even knew I had a reason to toot. Sadly I wasn't chosen for the January Blueprints call, but I did get a "HM", LOL

Can't close this post without a teeny tiny little "sports" update! Megan's team won their first play off game so they are 15-0 for the season right now. Keep your fingers crossed for a good weekend next weekend when they finish play offs! :)

Thanks to everyone who left such kind notes of encouragement about the word art! I have always been a fan of typography and quotes so it's really something I enjoy! I may try my hand at it again soon so check back! Hint, hint! ;)

Hmmmm, so what else is new in my little corner of the world?

My little guy, Dylan came home from school yesterday with a temp of 101.5. He stayed home today so I had to call out of work. :( Hopefully he will be well enough to go back to school tomorrow. When I called him in to school this morning, the secretary said that this is going around! We had been so lucky to have avoided it for this long, I guess!

Basketball season is finally winding down... just in time for volleyball and baseball sign ups! LOL Same kids, different scenery. Ah, the things we do for the ones we love, right? :)

Gotta give another shout out to Sheman Pore... the gentleman on American Idol who payed tribute to his late wife. I found a petition circulating to request the producers bring him back for the finale. I hope you will consider signing it: http://www.petitiononline.com/flowbee/petition.html

Have a great night!

Fonts, Word Art & Freebies, Oh my!

So I spent a little time on the hunt for some new fonts today! I know that before I *truly* go nuts, I need to find a way to organize the ones I have. I am known to use the same fonts over and over out of sheer laziness. Anyway, on my hunt I stumbled on my very own layout right here at ScrapNFonts! Isn't that a riot?

After downloading a few fonts from various sites, I was inspired to create some word art. What do you think?

If you like it, you can download it for free.

All I ask is that if you snag it, please post a note here on my blog. Feel free to direct your friends to download it here rather than sending them a direct link to the download, too, ok? :)

Have a great night and don't forget to stop by TDC tomorrow for the 25th week of TDC Sketch Challenge! :)

Playing catch up!

OK, first and foremost-- Chick Click Layered Templates are LIVE at The Digi Chick! 3 templates for $3... can't beat that with a stick! ;) Look for 2 new sets to go up this Thursday, too!

It's been another busy weekend here in NH. I filed our 2006 income tax return yesterday and thankfully we are getting a return again this year. Of course our debt negates this, but it will feel good to make some payments. Now I am working on filling out T-1 and T-2 forms... for those of you who don't know, that's Girl Scout cookie paperwork slang, LOL :) Megan's team won their game again yesterday which makes them 13-0 for the season (or is it 14-0?)! Yeah! Go Auburn! Dylan also had a game and Dane has one today. Last night was "Date Night". Scott and I went out for dinner with a gift certificate we received for Christmas. We went LaCaretta, a Mexican restaurant in Derry. I don't think we would hurry back. The service wasn't great and they ROYALLY screwed up our order. When there is BEEF in my burrito, I am NOT a happy Rachael! I have always said that I think they use tortillas to "hide" the contents of their food because it isn't really ever what they say it is, LOL Anyway, it was nice just to be out with Scott & talk like adults. We realized we hadn't been out together alone since LAST FEBRUARY!

ETA: Forgot to mention I have a little TOOT from Cantata Books for a layout created with Shawna Clingerman's Techno Grunge kit at Sweet Shoppe Designs! Yeah!

I guess I better get back to the chores of the day... laundry, paperwork and other such things! Hope your weekend was great!

1/12 of the year has past!

It hard to believe it's already February 1st! I set the alarm for 5am and woke like a kid on Christmas morning! I could not wait to get up and see my name in the boutique at TDC as a real designer! Sadly, though, my lack of sleep was not rewarded with visions of sugar plums dancing in my head. Something has come up and Laura will not be getting the new items up until tonight. Please check back, ok?

BTW, I want to add that I have a huge respect for Laura for choosing her family first. I often say "Family First. Always." and I genuinely mean that. There are not enough people in this world that will make that choice when they have pressure from friends, employers, etc. So, GO LAURA! You do what you gotta do, girl! :)

February 1st also means 2 exciting Guest CT spots for me! Woohoo! I am lucky to be working with Karah Fredricks of Blue Flombingo and TDC and Laura Deacetis of Sweet Shoppe Designs! Both of these ladies are amazing designers and I am thrilled to get to feature their designs all month long!

So, what else is new , you ask? Hmmmm... not too much! Monday was my day off this week because Dylan had his yearly check up. He is doing just fine, 50%ile for height now and 25%ile for weight. Yeah, he's a slim guy, what can I say? He takes after me- NOT! Hahahahaha! Dane had a field trip to the state house on Tuesday which he loved and then both boys had the ski program after school. Yesterday was an early release day and the kids received their report cards. Last night Dane had cub scouts, Victoria had basketball practice and Megan had an away game in Hudson. Work is work is work is work and that's all I am going to say about that! LOL Guess that's all for now!

Check back later for the official debut of Chick Click Layered Templates!
