Help, I am trapped under a paint can and I can't get up!
Don't I look happy painting the boys room? LOL OK, I will admit that it *is* stressful but I am LOVING the results! This red is FAB! It's called Stadium Red from Ralph Lauren and despite the fact I had to buy a primer that cost as much as the paint itself, it is SO worth it! It matches Dane's new comforter perfectly! Dylan's new Tony Hawk comforter will go quite well, too! Now if Victoria and Megan could just make up their minds about what they want and -heaven forbid- maybe even have it coordinate, life would be good. :) We finally got a couple inches of snow yesterday. I took only 2 pictures, though because I didn't want to get my socks wet and was too lazy to put on shoes to go outside. I hate when grass shows through the snow in photos anyway! There must be a blizzard just around the corner, anyway. This *is* New England, right? Well, I better go. I need to finish vacuuming and cleaning up the kitchen as we are having a few friends over to ring in the new year. I am kind of wishing I had grabbed a nap, LOL :) Happy new year! May 2007 be your best year yet! XO
I've gone to the darkside!
A friend of mine convinced me to join MySpace.com so I could read her new (& private) blog! So...... I can now be found right here: http://www.myspace.com/inlovewithdotsI don't really plan to "use" it, but I would like to look less like a loser with no friends so if you are on MySpace, send me an invite, would ya? ;) Just taking a quick break rom painting the boy's room right now. I am LOVING the red we chose. I think I might want to use the same color in my dinigroom! I am SO tired of the yellow in there! Hope you're having a great holiday weekend! :)
Hapy Friday!
Got a bit of a headache workin' today so excuse me while I squint as I type this! GG (short for Great Grandmother) sent some money to shop for the kiddos for Christmas so we decided it was time for new bedding. Dane has Blues Clues, Victoria has Lion King, Megan has Powerpuff Girls and Dylan has Bob the Builder so as you can imagine, this is long overdue. I didn't realize how much the "trendier" teen and sports sets were. I guess we will have to accessorize later! We are heading out shortly to get paint for the rooms so if you don't see me for a few days, you will know why. I will be straining my back to reachthose high places, LOL Hope your holiday break is wonderful! Chat soon! XO
The Christmas Blog Post (a few days late)
Here are a few layouts I have done since Christmas that share photos from our wonderful holiday weekend! :) Full credits for all the above layouts can be found in my gallery. Had a funny little conversation with Dylan a few minutes ago that I want to document so I can scrap it. Mom: Dylan, You're crazy! Dylan: Why? Just because I have a unicycle? Mom: Yes. How many kids do you think asked for a unicycle for Christmas? Dylan: LOTS from Egypt. Aren't there a lot of clowns in Egypt? What? Where on earth would he get THAT from? LOL He has been practicing like crazy in the basement. I know it's going to take him a while, but he WILL master it! Nicole stayed over 3 nights (which hasn't happened in forever) so the kiddos have been enjoying their time with her. We have made a few trips to the mall to use Christmas gift certificates. Other than that, we have been doing a lot of chilling this holiday break which is awesome! Hope your holiday was wonderful! XO
Christmas Eve Check In
What a whirlwind of events since my last post just a few days ago... 1. Carolled with the Cub Scouts in Manchester 2. Worked a few hours Friday 3. Went grocery shopping with Scott (always an adventure) 4. Got a haircut (2 inches chopped off) and color 5. Made perogies with the family 6. Had Jeff & Sylvie over for dinner 7. Finished wrapping gifts Today we are doing a bit of cleaning and then will head to Christmas Eve Mass. Megan is altar serving tonight. Then we will head back home for the traditional Christmas Eve dinner and open a few gifts with Scott's family (the part that is still intact, anyway). Then just one last sleep until Santa visits and a full day of family and love tomorrow! What could be better? It's so hard to believe that another Christmas season has flown by so quickly. As a child it seemed to take so long, but now it seems as if I blink, I miss days or even weeks. Guess thats the thing about getting old that you don't really "get" until you get there! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. Be safe and enjoy what is most important! XO
Thursday Morning catch up
Just checking in on this fine snowless Thursday morning! :) We attended Victoria's Holiday Chorus Concert last night and it was wonderful as always! We also managed to get a wee bit more shopping done. Just 2 gifts left to buy (tomorrow) and I think is it. The party is OVER! Yeah! I've got a new set of Duplicates in the store for all the dog lovers today! We will be having a little holiday lunch at work today... should be fun! I think I'll bring my camera in case someone puts a lamp shade on their head! ;) Got my February CK and was STOKED to see my name listed as one of " 10 readers who had pages that caught my eye this month" in the Reader Gallery on page 152! That makes twice now I've received the mention but no call for a page request! Come on CK, PICK ME! lol :) If you have some time to scrap during the holiday break, check out the sketch challenge at The Digi Chick! We are up to Challenge #18 already! It's never too late to join in and play along! :) Guess that's it for today! Have a good one! XO
An email from my baby
An email exchange with Dylan yesterday... Dylan: Thank you Mom: For what? Dylan: every thing Isn't he the sweetest little thing? And guess what! Today is his 8th birthday! Happy birthday, Dylan! Love you, baby!
Lighted Winter Wonderland
Scott & I took the kids to the Lighted Winter Wonderland at Charmingfare Farm in Candia NH yesterday! What a beautiful night for it, albeit a little muddy! More pictures/layouts coming soon... Working today so I gotta scoot but wanted to share that quick layout with ya! Have a good one! XO
We had a blast!
I had SO much fun last night hangin' with the girls! We watched old movies of the family and laughed and drank and ate and just generally enjoyed eachother! Jen and I didn't stop talking until 2:30 in the morning! There is definitely nothing like a family sleepover. I feel so blessed to be part of such an amazing family. 3 out of 4 of the kiddos have basketball today and Scott is home for the weekend so I won't be around too much! Hope your weekend is wonderful! XO
Fun Friday!
Oh my gosh, today is my first day off where I haven't had something specific that I needed to do (orthodontist with Victoria, doctor's appts, etc) in the longest time! Well, okay, probably just since Thanksgiving weekend, but still, I am beyond PSYCHED! I think I am going to use the day to get caught up on some online stuff... maybe create a few layouts... work on some unfinished Duplicates projects.....comment in some galleries, etc! Speaking of Duplicates... a new set of Duplicates released yesterday! You can purchase the Silly One combo set right here! I also completed a 26 page 8x8" ABC Mini Album using Flossie from Fee Jardine! I just ADORE this kit and love the way this album came out! Yesterday marked 6 years since my Mom passed away. It was a hard day and I have been quite emotional for the past week as it led up to this anniversary. In some ways it seems like a lifetime ago.... so long since I called her up to share every detail of my life and listen to her soothing voice calm me down and shower me with love. In other ways it seems like just yesterday I got the call from Jamie on that snowy morning. I miss her. I really do. I still can't make sense of why she had to go so young. *sigh* In happier family news, I am getting together with my cousins and aunts on my Dad's side of the family tonight! We are having a Girl's Night sleepover at my aunt Suzie's and I can't wait! They are such fun people to hang out with and I hope to be enthralled listening to the stories I missed from their childhoods. For those of you who don't know, I am an adoptee. I was reunited with my biological Father and his family in 1998. It's strange because it feels like I have always been a part of the family- they are so much like me and I meshed so well when I met them all. Off to get some things done! Have a super fab Friday! XO
Wednesday morning check in!
In my hast to post an update last time, I forgot to mention that our beloved "oldest son", Steve, has moved out. He got his very own place in Derry! He seems to like it, although he is pretty bored at the moment. Yesterday is the first day he didnt stop by since he moved out on Friday, LOL :) I shopped again last night and would call myself 90% done at this point- even with the wrapping! I never thought I would be this far when I hadnt even started as of Thanksgiving! It really is a good feeling! I want to be able to enjoy the holidays and I can't with "chores" looming over my head! Tonight is Dylan's holiday concert at the school! I love Christmas carols and they are even better when sung by a bunch of first and second graders! :) The shower beckons as I must work today! Have a great one!
I'll skip the bag blogger speech...
I'll skip the bad blogger speech because it's so redundant! Let's see... what's new in my world? Not a whole heck of a lot... just the usual holiday hustle and bustle mixed with work and the kid's activities, homework, etc. I made my Christmas cards Tuesday night, ordered them at Winkflash and had them here by Saturday. They are all addressed and mailed! Yeah me! The kids built the annual gingerbread house which was embarassingly small (pictures to come soon). Next year I think we are going to have a party and build a gingerbread mansion with our friends. No more of this little crap, LOL :) I need to get some gifts wrapped so I am outta here today! Have a good one! XO
Newsflash: The kids at the pink house are not spoiled rotten!
So, this crazy thing happened yesterday. Some kids from Londonderry were sitting by Megan at the basketball game. They were talking about how "everyone" in Auburn has a big house, is rich and that all the kids are spoiled. One kid even specifically mentioned our house by description!!! Us rich? MY KIDS SPOILED? Are you kidding????? I wonder if he would be surprised to know we got a disconnect notice for our electricity because we are behind on the payments. I wonder if he knows that I have never taken my kids to Disney because there is just no money for vacations of that magnitude. I wonder if he knows that more than 1/2 the kid's clothes are "handy downs". I wonder if he knows we have no savings account, no 401K, no retirement fund. I wonder if he knows that mac and cheese is a dietary staple in this house. On the other hand, we are a family who enjoys eachother's company. We are a family who puts family first. We are a family rich with tradition. We are a family of hard workers. We are a family who works together. We are a family of faith. So if the rich he was referring to is rich with love then he certainly has that right. Have a wonderful Tuesday!
You've got to see it to believe it!
Yes, that's right... this photo is of Scott's ex-wife and me! Who would think that after 4 years of not speaking we could come together and actually enjoy eachother's company? Must be that "Christmas miracle" I am always talking about! ;) And now for the more important photos.... I had my camera on the wrong setting for several of the photos so I have some work ahead of me in Photoshop but I wanted to get these up so you could see how beautiful Nicole looked! On the home front, our furnace is going and today I had to take a cold shower. Not my idea of fun! I went to check the clothes in the dryer and they are soaking wet and cold after 30 mins. Obviously, the heating element went in the dryer! WILL THE MADNESS ever end?? I am working today but have tomorrow off for Victoria to get her braces! Hope you all have a great day!
Sat morning cartoons
They just don't make Saturday morning cartoons like they used to! Remember the Smurfs? Muppet Babies? School House Rock? And the Barba Papas? Those shows made it worthwhile to get up at 5am and park my butt in front of the tv until well into the afternoon. Ahhhhhhhh, the good ole days! So, I went scrappin' last night with my buddy, Melissa. It was a "quiet" crop so we got to really spread out. I scanned and uploaded 9 of the 8x8 layouts I completed. Nothing special, really, but I had fun playing! Today Megan and Dane both have basketball, and Megan is going to a party tonight. The boys and I are going to head over to Nicole's house to see her off to her semi-formal so expect lots of pictures from that soon. I hope to do ome digi scrapping tonight and maybe catch a Christmas movie with the boys! Have an awesome day! XO
