Live from NH, it's Tuesday morning!!!!!!
I wish I could say today is "gulit free Digital Tuesday", but it's school vacation week so there is no way I will get any good uninterupted time to create today! Dane & I went grocery shopping last night and bought some brownie mix which we are planning to bake today. I am trying to decide if a trip to the movies might be in order. It's just TOO COLD to let the kids play outside. Sooooooooooo, happy anniversary to Scott & me! 10 wonderful years! Yeah, yeah, that's it.... wonderful! Tee hee! There are certainly MANY moments I thought we wouldnt make it, but I am glad we did. The good outweighs the bad by far. We did go out Sunday and I mentioned it would have been fun if we had made predictions on our wedding night as to where we would be right now. Sooooo, I grabbed my notebook and we made predictions for where we will be in another 10 years! It's hard to fatham that FOUR of the kids will be out of high school by then! 50 more items added to my gallery since my last post! The most recent few are from "The Office Book" written by Melissa & myself. :) Have an awesome day!
Me again...
OK, me again, just confirming that I have no desire to learn to design, BUT... I just wanted to share this PHENOMINAL tutorial I just ran into... Creating a Bazzill like texture! Not every kit comes with solids and I really like to use at least some (if not A LOT of) solids on my layouts. Sometimes I don't mind the flat, dull color, but when mixing with shabby type papers, I LONG for texture! I have now had a whole new door open to me! WOOHOO! This is going to be fun! Thanks, Kelly!
Woohoo- I cracked 500!
I just uploaded the 500th item into my new gallery! WOW, it's hard to believe how much I have done over the past few years. If you have a few minutes, please check it out... I still have a long way to go, but I have made a good start! Megan had a scrimmage against another local team today. Unfortunately I ended up sitting in that buffer zone... you know, the last seat for our team before their seating begins. That means I got to hear all the snide comments. Can't they just accept the fact we are better? ;) ROTFL The kids are off to Sherri's tonight, so that I can work tomorrow. Scott & I may head out for an appetizer to celebrate the big 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY which will be Tuesday (really the 29th isn't even happening this year, but since we renewed our vows in the church on the 28th, we get to celebrate then). In some ways I wish we had the kind of money that would allow Scott to surprise me with a gorgeous diamond ring (especially since I had mine painfully cut from my finger last year), but it's just not like that. We live an average life and any extra we have goes towards debt or the kids. It's all about choices and I would choose my wonderful family over jewelry any day of the week! It seems like a lot of the digi things I have been doing lately can't be shared quite yet. There is one in particular I am looking forward to sharing here. It's a tribute to a very special friend of mine that passed away in May. It will have to wait for a little longer, though. Enjoy your Sunday! :)
Tag, I'm it!
I was tagged by Rose! See below for the rules to this one and to see who I am tagging! 1. What are your three favorite life moments thus far? Hey, no fair... I have 4 kiddos so I have 4 PERFECT moments and couldn't choose just 3. And what about my wedding? And the day I met my Dad? Ok, there's my 3.... the birth of each of my children counts as one, LOL :) 2. Who are the three most important peeps in your life?
Here we go again, LOL :) God (can He be called a peep? LOL), my husband & my children 3. Where were you three years ago?Hmmmmm, that would be early 2003. I was homeschooling Dane for kindergarten with Dylan underfoot. They were SO stinkin cute! Anyway, not much different than where I am at right now... maybe a few less grey hairs then! 4. If your only three fast food choices were Taco Bell, Mc Donalds, or Burger King which would you choose?
Yuck! I am not a fast food fan, but I guess I would grab some fries at McDonalds! 5. If you could meet three celebs and talk to each one for 1/2 hour who would you choose? The Pope George W. Bush Mel Gibson Rose writes: Here's the catch though if you're tagged you need to come back to my blog leave a little comment that you've tagged up. So at the bottom of the questions when you copy and paste you'll need to grab and include the link to this very blog so others can continue on and let's see how many peeps participate. I feel great!
I've got to tell you, I feel GREAT tonight! It's as if a HUGE weight was lifted from my shoulders today. I don't want to talk in riddles but I don't want to say too much either, so here is a little background. I worked as an instructor for a scrapbook store. I was taken advantage of, lied to and mistreated by the owner on numerous occassions. I am thrilled to say that ALL of that is behind me now. Of course I know she will talk smack about me and try to turn the story around, but ya know what? I don't care! I am going to take the high road. I know that I followed through on every commitment and conducted myself in a professional manner at all times. There is nothing else I could have done to improve the situation. I am glad to close that door and open lots of new ones! :) I uploaded many new projects into the gallery here at RG.com tonight! I have crossed the 200 mark! WOOHOO! I am super excited for a day off tomorrow. Because of the Monday holiday, I worked Tues, Wed and Thurs and I am finding myself missing my Photoshop! I can't wait to scrap tomorrow- I have a few assigments due by the end of the month that need my attention and I am quite excited to dive into them tomorrow! :) I had a friend ask me this week if I liked my job. What an interesting question. At the time she asked, I told her I did like it, though I couldn't give exact reasons. Part of it comes from the pride of working and doing a job well. I hold my head high each day as I walk out the door to work. The past 2 days, though, have taught me the real reason that I stay at ATD... the company is a lot like me. Loyal. Honest. Committed. I am very lucky to have Barbara for a boss. She expects perfection (as she should), but she is also kind, caring and a great person to work for. She is inspiring and talented. I am so glad she took a chance on me despite my crazy schedule and lack of ability to give her the full time hours she so desparately wants. I wish there was a way that ATD could express that small town homey feel that the office holds while still maintaining the HUGE volume of business they do across the country. I imagine that many people don't realize or remember that there are REAL people behind each and every package. Maybe that's a story for another day! Thanks to all of you who have offered me support over the past couple days. I value your friendships so much! XOXO
Stress
I came home from work yesterday and went to bed. Yep, that's right... other than for dinner... I was asleep in my bed from 3:30pm until 5am. My head was throbbing, my chest hurt and I have a killer pain in my back. It's called stress and an "old friend" gave it to me. I am working hard to clear up this situation and let go of the stress. I physically can't take it. So, being as I slept all evening, I don't have many new things to report. I am still working hard to get all of my layouts added to the gallery. Lots of fun things coming up at ACOT... I hope to spend tomorrow working on some special projects. Have a great Thursday!
The gallery is up!
Lori tried out a few different programs for me, but I am a creature of habit... I like what is comfortable so I finally just paid the extra $100 for the software I am familiar with. So far I have uploaded 40 new items! At this rate, it might take FOREVER to get everything in there! At least it will be fresh all the time, LOL. So, I am sitting here smiling because Napoleon Dynamite is on. How can you NOT be happy while watching that movie? "I don't even have any good skills. You know like numchuck skills, bo staff skills, computer hacking skills. Girls only want guys that have good SKILLS!" Thanks for all your help on my 10 Things layout for Jan's challenge (see yesterday's post if you don't know what I am talking about). I haven't started it yet, but I feel like I will have a better start. A shout out to Megan and the rest of the basketball team for taking 1st place in their divison yesterday! It was quite an exciting game against Bedford. As I always say, "Cheaters never win"!
Random thoughts!
Still loving my new space as much as ever here on the 'net! I can't wait to get the gallery loaded and start uploading ALL of my work! Yes, it will be a chore, but I am looking forward to having all of my designs in one place! Megan had another play off game this morning and it was a slaughter house! I LOVED IT! :) Her coach had the brilliant idea of heading out for pizza after so off we went to Pizza Hut! All 27 of us! I am loving some of the parents- I could see us having a BLAST at the bar on a Saturday night! ;) Sooooooo, who is reading this? Isn't that a weird thing to think about!? I know by blogging I put it all out there for anyone to read, but still I am wondering who sees this? Friends from real life? Work associates? Arch enemies? LOL Very strange, indeed! That's okay, though, I have always been an open book. I am not worried about safety. I know for a fact that you can find ANYONE you want to if you are willing to work hard enough! Jan issued a challenge to her CT- create a layout with 10 things you love about yourself. I am stumped. I can think of 1. Is that because there is only 1 lovable thing about me? Or I hold high standards to call something lovable? I could use a little help, girls... if you can think of something I can add to the list below, let me know! :) 1. My quick witted sense of humor! 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Wow, that sure is an empty list! ;) Well, now that I have said nothing today, I am off to do some creating! Have an awesome Saturday! :)
New look!
Sooooooooooo, what do you think? Do you like the new look? It's coming along quite nicely! Lori from The Design Shoppe is doing a fantastic job- exactly what I hoped for! She is still working on choosing the perfect gallery software so that section isn't ready quite yet, but eventually it will house ALL of my paper and digital designs by category! I am VERY excited about this feature! Please feel free to leave me a comment to let me know what think or if you find anything that needs correcting! So I was looking forward to creating some new layouts today, but Mother Nature had other plans for me! Her winds knocked the power out around noon and it wasn't back till almost 6pm! Ugh! I was bored to tears! I did pay some bills and get some filing done, though, so maybe things worked out just like they should! Not much else new to report... have an awesome weekend!
Late today!
I am blogging late today! I raced over to Digi Scrap Divas this morning to download & unzip the Priceless kit- that left no time for blogging before work! Be sure to check out the kit- it's for a great cause! 2 Cute 4 Words layout credits: Backgrounds, Alphabets, Numbers and Flowers all from the Priceless Charity kit at Digi Scrap Divas Inked edges from Kathy Moore Font: CK JournalingDay #2 without a website. Weird. I don't think I can handle it so I have a little trick up my sleeve! Keep your eye on my blog for some fun changes! :) Have you been over to A Cherry on Top today? It is the big Gina Miller reveal! There are SO many fabulous layouts in the gallery using her new EXCLUSIVE kit! Don't miss it! I know this is short today, but it's almost dinner time (no, I am not cooking, LOL) so I am going to scoot! Have a fantastic night!
Saying good bye to an era...
Just as I made the decision to close Scrappers Anonymous, Diana and her daughter Michelle (regulars at the site) decided to step forward and take over the reigns. I didn't think I would feel sad but there is a little part of me that feels sad. I sunk my heart & soul into the site for more than 2 and 1/2 years. It feels strange to let go now. When one door closes, another always opens...
Shabby Tuesday!
Today is Shabby Tuesday in my world and the world of those who digital scrap! In honor of this special day, I created a quick layout this morning using the Splendid Kit by Shabby Princess! (Just to give full credit where credit is due, the font is CK Typeset.) Speaking of fonts, I feel a little like I am not a "real" digi scrapper because I use so many CK fonts. Is that as "yesterday" as I think it is? Do me a favor, share the name of your favorite font in the comments today and let me know where I can get it! It's time for me to come into the 21st century! :) So, not only is today Shabby Tuesday, it's also Valentine's Day! We got the usual DVD's for the kids. Somehow Dane has it in his head that he needs to leave out a stool for me to put their gifts on. We did it once and I guess in his head that makes it a tradition! So, do you guys buy gifts for your kids for Valentine's Day? If not, why not? I would rather spend my money on a gift for them than roses that are way overpriced and will die in a few days anyway! OK, I have to cut this short! Shabby Princess is adding new products to the shoppe, so my credit card must get some use! Have a fabulous day! :)

Monday, Monday!
I skipped blogging again yesterday but if it makes you feel any better, I didnt shower, either, LOL. I never stepped foot out of my house, not even one toe out the door! We did get about 12" of white fluffy snow. I am *not* looking forward to heading ourside to go to work this morning. I get the goosebumps just thinking about it! I spent much of the day yesterday scrapping. I also created Valentine cards for Megan to take to school and then used the cards to create a digital page! Didn't they come out cute? All backgrounds and elements by Heather Roselli in her Sugary Sweet Kit at The Digi Chick Font: CK Plain JaneIt's hard to believe that tomorrow is the Shabby Shoppe reopening! I am glad it's Valentine's Day so I can justify my spendings, LOL :) Do you love Anita Stergiou's designs? Check out her Essentials Collection: Ribbon Roses Sampler Pack! This fun little bag of goodies - FREE - will make you a happy girl! :) Well, it's time for that shower I mentioned skipping yesterday! Have a great Monday! Stay warm!
Lots of Saturday ramblings!
I took a day off from blogging yesterday! Did you miss me? Better still, did you even notice? LOL Sooooo, tell me, did you head over to The Digi Chick last night for the new designer chat? WOW, I was blown away by how many digi scrappers attended! If you missed it and still need the password for the awesome kit, Heart's Desire, you can still earn it! Check out all the details here! I met with my Tiger Cubs last night! We completed the requirements for them to earn 2 beltloops! Woohoo! What GREAT boys I have! It has been a really rewarding experience for me this year. Despite the blue skies this morning we are expecting a giant snowstorm this weekend and I am THRILLED! The latest forcast is 8-14" for this area! Woohoo! I made the kids promise they would build a snowman... I need pictures, ya know!? LOL Jan Crowley's CT announcement was yesterday! I am honored to be a part of her team! It's hard to believe she has been designing for such a short time! Oh, and in case you didn't know... she is having a little baby girl TODAY! How cool is that!? Registration for the CK Convention in Manchester NH is now open. I am signed up for 6 classes... what am I thinking? I don't even paper scrap anymore, LOL! They are offering a few digi classes but they conflicted with some other classes I needed to register for and my friend Melissa would have killed me anyway, so I am sitting them out. Maybe next time! Speaking of conventions, Melissa & I are heading over to the KISS Event NHSC today! Gotta keep up with what's going on even if we only shop and never scrap, LOL :) That's all for now, folks! Have an awesome Saturday!
Thursday Notes
Another early morning because I am working again today! It's fairly quiet at work, so that makes for slow days. :( Megan has a game tonight... thank goodness it's close to the end of the season. I am looking forward to a break between basketball and soccer. The Crop on the Cape is now just a month away. I still have one class to plan and all of the kits to pack. UGH! I don't know why I keep doing this... I think my teaching days may be over soon. I haven't had a single class hold in the store in 2006. It's such a waste of my time to come up with concepts, write descriptions, create samples, plan childcare and then have no one register. Other paper scrapping notes to self: Create store samples and do that CJ entry. Now. Okay not now, but very soon, like tomorrow. You can't keep putting going to the messy studio. Work must be done. What a boring entry today is turning out to be. I had better go rummage up a layout to share... Lifetime Friends Credits: Backgrounds, Alphabet and Stamps all by Jan Crowley in her Weekender Kit at The Digi Chick Font: CK MarissaIn case you can't read the journaling, this is my buddy Gary & me on Christmas Day! He and I are almost 9 years apart to the very day- I am 10/12 and he is 10/13. We have been friends since I was born. We always laugh TONS when we are together- he is definitely one of the funniest people I know! In unrelated news... I must share that I find people who are bothered by my lack of apostrophe use in typing humorous when I see those same people unable to use the correct word "due" rather than "do" in their own typing. Maybe people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, eh? Have a fantastic day!
Sleep and scrap!
Cork, Paperclip, Flowers and Gems from Gina Miller's Build Your Own Bulletin Board Kit @ SBB Paper from Gina Miller's Note This Staples from Alisha Hess' You Are My Sunshine KitFont: Tia Casual from Designer DigitalsGood morning from east coast USA! It's another early morning for me... I woke up at 3:3oam and couldn't get back to sleep. So strange that my sleep patterns are changing. I have always needed like 12 hours and could sleep anytime, anyplace. I also loved a good nap, and now I haven't napped in months! I enjoy having the extra awake time, especially before the kiddos get up, but its still very weird! I scrapped quite a few pages yesterday. The layout above uses a new kit from Gina Miller that I saw in her blog! I literally RACED over to SBB to buy it! It's called Build Your Own Bulletin Board! How fun is that? Backgrounds, Brads, Stitching, Ribbon, Bookplate and Chipboard all from Tumble 4 Ya kit by Misty Mareda at The Digi Shoppe Font: CK True TypeI was also really happy with the how the design came out for the Wild Child layout above. The colors were fun with that crazy picture of Victoria. I love that new kit, Tumble 4 Ya by Misty Mareda! I am sitting here trying to think of some other funny or insightful thing to say, but nothing is coming to me, so I am going to close this post for today! Make it a great one! :) ETA: Just found some Love Cookies you might like to have! ;)
Photo Swap...
 1. How sweet is this picture!? Laura McGee sent this pic of her and her husband for a photo swap we are doing on Dani's Team where I am lucky to be the Guest Designer for February! 2. How lucky am I to be using the Heart's Desire Kit on this layout? Definitely a fun perk of being on TDC CT! This kit can be yours free on Friday the 10th if you join us at The Digi Chick to meet the newest designers!!! Hmmmm, trying to think of what else is new... seems like not too much! Today is once again guilt free digital Tuesday. I am "caught up" so I plan to work at a slightly more relaxed pace. I am wishing I had more Valentine photos because I have several Valentine kits that I need to use and I am pressed for pictures in a big way! Got anything for me? Off I go to get started... maybe I will update later! :)
Gina Miller said she knew me and other things, too!
OK, I stalk Gina Miller. Who doesn't? I mean, she is like a superhero, cranking out amazing designs for us all to play with and still raising a family and keeping an amazing blog filled with the stories of her life. I often comment on her blog (yes, I have been known to have something to say about everything, LOL) and she emailed me back and said she saw my work in Simple Scrapbooks and was like "Hey, I know that girl". Did you hear that!? She knew me by name!!!!!! Woohooo, how cool is that? In other equally exciting news, Christine Smith has announced her new Creative Team and I am blessed to be a part of it! She sells at Digitals, but will soon be selling at The Digi Chick. I am really excited to be working with her! I am posting the layout I created for her call! You can all the team's layouts using the same kit on her blog! Speaking of The Digi Chick... do you want a totally awesome FREE kit? Check out " Heart's Desire"! You can download the kit now, but to get the password you must come chat Friday Feb 10th at 9pm Eastern! It's going to be a blast!!!!!!! I guess I had best go shower so people at work will like me... or at least not gag at the smell, LOL Have a fantastic Monday!
Game Day
Well, Steve is home and is fine, relatively speaking. He still is throwing up and has a headache but can speak and walk, so I guess thats the best case scenerio at this point! Thank you for all of your prayers for his good health. Today is game day! It's definitely more fun with the Patriots in the Superbowl. Since they didn't make it this year, I will be rooting for Seattle... I am an underdog cheering kind of person! The boys have basketball today and of course we have Mass and CCD this morning. I also need to go grocery shopping. Doesn't that sound like a wonderful Sunday? The Blue & Gold Banquet was fun last night... a little long, but the boys were thrilled to earn their new beltloops for swimming and basketball. New scrapping material for me, so that's a good thing, LOL Have a wonderful day!
Prayer request
You've seen me scrap our family friend Steve numerous times. He has been living with us since August and we love having him around. We joke that he is our "oldest son". He and his friend Emily went up to Bretton Woods for the day. I got a call from Emily a while ago that he was in a snowboarding accident. Long story short, they were on the way to the hospital the last we heard from her. Please send a prayer along that he will be okay and that he is not seriously injured. ETA: Emily just called again. She said that Steve was having difficulty walking when they arrived at the hospital and that he could barely speak. He didnt know most of the information to give to the administration. They rushed him in and have given him some kind of medication. They will doing a Cat Scan and some other tests. She said she will keep me updated. 3:30pm Update: The Cat scan came back and I guess there is no major brain damage. He is still slurring, having trouble seeing and has one heck of a headache that they say he may have for WEEKS, but it seems like he will be okay. They want him to follow up with a doctor next week. PHEW! Backgrounds, Chipboard Snowflakes, Twill and Ribbon all from Paula Duncan in her Winter Wonderland kit at Sweet Shoppe DesignsFont: Tia Flip Flop from Designer Digitals
Versatile!
There are so many things I love about digital scrapping! I find myself rationalizing it in my head all the time, as I force guilty thoughts of paper and glue away! The # one thing I hear is "But there is no texture or dimension"..... are you KIDDING ME!? The digital designers are doing an AMAZING job designing realistic things and I honestly prefer the look. What can I say? I am a digital girl living in a digital world! ;) I love to get good use out of each digital kit I purchase/recieve. I like it even better when the kit is versatile. Check out the layouts I was able to do with Jan Crowley's Hip Cat kit! Brads, Chipboard, Alphabet and Stitching by Jan Crowley in her Hip Cat kit Inked edge overlay by Kathy Moore Backgrounds, Chipboard Alphabet and Chipboard Word and Brads all by Jan Crowley in her Hip Cat kit. Note: I added the word "little" to the chipboard tag! :) Font: CK True Type Backgrounds, Chipboard Alphabet (K), Chipboard Words and Brads all by Jan Crowley in her Hip Cat kit at The Digi Chick Font: CK NiteLiteSeriously, isn't that amazing? I think I could use this kit forever if it weren't for the fact I have some other assignments to get done! LOL Basketball and Banquets.... those are my plans for today! If I can squeeze in a digital layout, I'll call it a super day! :) Have a great weekend!
Back in control!
First of all, thank you to all of you who either took the time to comment and/or view the ALSA website last night when I posted. It means the world to me to have such supportive friends as a result of being a part of the digital scrapping community. It's sad to me that so many of you have also been touched in some way by this disease and yet there is still not enough money/time/effort to find a cure. :( My prayers are with all the families currently suffering at the hands of ALS and my wish is that the ER episode last night will bring some new focus to this deadly disease. The writers and cast did an amazing job portraying the illness and it's devastation. And as for scrapping... I am back in the driver's seat! I am OUT of the weeds (which, BTW, Pam, means to be swamped with work- it's a restaurant term, LOL) and back in control of the things I have coming up! Anyone who knows me in my "real life" knows that I often feel like I am on a rollercoaster and get overwhelmed for a bit before I can bring it together again. I think I might have a "touch" of PMS this week, too, LOL. Today is a yucky, rainy Friday so I am looking forward to getting LOTS of scrapping done! :) Have a fantastic day!
PSA: “ER” Episode Highlights Assistive Technology for ALS
“ER” Episode Highlights Assistive Technology for ALSJust a quick PSA... if you watch ER tonight and are touched by the story, please take the time visit http://www.alsa.org/ to see how you can help in the search for a cure. I want to watch, but I don't know if I can. The commercials already have me in tears because it hits too close to home, seeing the suffering and remembering what my mother went through. She was ROBBED of so much. She was diagnosed in November 1998 and passed away just 25 months later. Watching this heinous disease take its toll on her was grueling. She couldn't walk, she couldn't talk, she couldn't eat, she couldn't communicate and eventually she couldn't breath. I still miss her so much! :(
Shhh, don't tell anyone...
Don't tell anyone, but I am IN THE WEEDS! I know myself and I know important things must be done ASAP or I will develop a mental block. Well, I went and let my fears of inadaquency get in the way and now I am pushing the deadline for an assignment that I should have done the day I first was made aware of it. I spent 2 hours working on this one particular layout. Does it look like I spent 2 hours? Heck no, because more than 1/2 that time I spent waiting for Photoshop to do it's thing. At one point, I shut down and even got the dreaded blue screen of death! My computer is in a bad way right now, and I have NO TIME for that! Unless my computer really does blow up, I am sure I can get it all done... it's just a matter of prioritizing what needs to happen and checking things off the ole list! :) I can do it, yes I can! So, today is Thursday... I have to work. I am bummed about that because I did ALL of the assignments left for me, so now I am doing things like cleaning and organizing. Yesterday dragged and I was only there 4.5 hours. Today I will be there 6 hours so I can imagine it will be even worse. Nothing else exciting for the moment... keep in touch! :)
February 1st is finally here!
It seemed like today might never come!!!!!! Finally, A Cherry on Top and Sweet Shoppe Designs have opened their virtual doors to the digi community! I spent some time browsing the galleries and shoppes this morning and I must admit I am having a bit of Adult ADHD, running around like a kid on Christmas morning! Why oh why did I not request today off from work? I am going to miss the prime of the day since I am leaving at 9am and won'e be back until 3pm! *sigh* Since I haven't been sharing many layouts here lately, I wanted to start there this morning! This layout was created for Robin Carlton's Creative Team using her new (and oh so fun) Tootsie Pop kit! Backgrounds, Frame, Flower, Brads all by Robin Carlton in her TootsiePop kitStitching by Jan CrowleyFont: CK WoodbineWhile you are at Sweet Shoppe Designs, you MUST check out the Quarterly Assortment!
