Avoiding taxes

I sat down and did my Dad's taxes, but can't file them yet because I haven't been appointed executor. I still have our taxes looming over my head so I decided tonight was the night. I logged into the site where I could efile and promptly decided I would rather blog than start our taxes, LOL. I am terrified we are going to owe money and even though avoiding filing won't change that fact, I am just not ready to know.

I am sitting in the dark right now, just the glow of the monitor. Somehow I ended up childless tonight... the kids are all having sleepovers elsewhere and I have nothing to do but the regular everyday stuff of life- laundry, dishes, homework... not at a bad thing I suppose, but I do hate being alone at night. I am 34 years old and still afraid of the dark, or rather things IN the dark!

Just downloaded the song "You're Gonna Miss This"by Trace Adkins on iTunes. First of all, I can't believe how much country music I have come to appreciate! Second, I really love this song, but I can't help but wonder if it's true. I don't for one second miss high school or my teen years. I knew then that I couldn't wait to be a grown up and I have never regretted for even a minute that I rushed that along. THESE are the years that I am going to miss.... for all the crap I have been dealing with, I know I will look back on my 30's as a time of growth and change. I know that everything that happens just makes me a stronger person. Trite, but true.

We are still plugging away sorting through my Dad's stuff. Last week I washed all of his Dalmatian stuffed animals and we each took one. His Roxy meant the world to him and I hope that having something so important to him will bring comfort to the kids. They have been real troopers about the whole thing but I know that it still hurts, especially little Dylan.

I attended Project Safeguard yesterday with Megan. I think the kids liked it because it was something different than the norm of school, but I was less than impressed. There was nothing discussed that I haven't already talked to Megan about. It's definitely scary to think that some of the info was new to parents.

Well, now that I have rambled on about everything current in our lives, I guess it's time to put off the inevitable and start those taxes! Have a great night! :) Call me if you're bored!

I thought the exact same thing about that song! I don't miss high school at all (well, I do still miss the big hair a little!). My current country song download recommendations are Anyway (Martina McBride), REady, set, don't go (billy ray and miley cyrus, Holy Water (big and rich), Wasted (carrie underwood), and of course I am still fond of Jesus, TAke the Wheel. Go work on your taxes!
